The kids loved asking and using Google Assistant for Chrismas music. I would recommend this to a friend The box gave me the impression that the Link 300 would be too big to be discreet on my tv stand but it is much smaller in a good way. From telling jokes, flipping a coin, playing music and radio stations, to providing estimated commute times, I'm impressed. It is roughly the size of a football, only slightly taller and the included power cord has plenty of length to reach to an available outlet. You can talk directly to the screen, and it will respond to commands via the Google Assistant. I tapped on the device name and was connected. Not to mention it is super rugged and waterproof. I would recommend this to a friend the good -sound quality - one of the better sounding speakers of its kind that i've heard. The Link 300 fills my 750-square-foot apartment with ease, making it great for parties.
I find myself no longer using the 5 point front surround sound because it's just overkill. Separate indicator lights meanwhile tell you when Assistant is listening and responding. The Google Home app walks users through the initialization process. Functionality wise, the Link is amazing. No issues with setup, no issues with Wi-Fi streaming, and none with Bluetooth either. Its a very solidly built great sounding speaker.
Lenovo's Display, which hit store shelves a couple of weeks ago, impressed me with its looks and overall ease-of-use. Worked just a bit later though. All that and I haven't even tapped into the personal assistant feature yet!! It makes the bass very defined and punchy verses many other brands. The app walks you through the process of adding the speaker to your devices and connects it to your Wi-Fi network. When you turn it on, it automatically enters Bluetooth pairing mode and for me, it appears immediately in my Bluetooth device menu on my iPhone.
The privacy shade lets you disable the camera easily. The Link 300 does everything it describes and very easy to use with big buttons on top for basic controls. You have just found it! A three-bar light at the bottom reveals Wi-Fi signal strength. They're decently large and well separated, but besides the plastic Google Assistant button in the middle, the other buttons are all underneath the same layer of rubber. My phone allows me to Bluetooth to two speakers at the same time so I keep a 5 point Bluetooth Surround system upfront Big Lots and a smaller one in the rear of the coach to give me 'wireless' surround sound. Google Assistant Just like the Google Home and Google Home Max, the Link 300 can provide easy-to-share information such as weather, traffic, recipes, and so on.
Setup is extremely simple with the Google Home app - if you've setup a regular Google Home or Google Home Mini this is exactly the same process and doesn't take more than a few minutes. You could even put it on a shower shelf for some tunes while you wash. It includes a battery that powers the device for 10 hours, and in testing, I found that it could go at least that long before needing a recharge. Like watching videos of your favorite YouTube creators, reliving memories of your latest family vacation, making a video call to your best friend, receiving step-by-step baking instructions for delicious chocolate chip cookies, or dimming the lights for movie night. This speaker will work best if you subscribe to google play music but it will play from your Pandora or Spotify account as well. On the back, you'll find the power button, a battery life indicator and a mute button for the microphones.
The Echo Plus, by comparison, only supports Zigbee. That's fine for most music, not so much for jazz and classical. So you can get crystal clear, awesome sounding audio!. And this gives you a sense of surround sound, which is really amazing given the price point of this device. Below this, at the bottom of the speaker, is a cutout for the power cable which connects to the power port underneath the speaker. There is no comparison because the sound is not compressed and due to the quality of the speaker and good size of the woofer, I experienced rich acoustics.
Thanks to Google Assistant, the Link View works best as a kitchen assistant, with a great guided recipe system, an attractive touchscreen and a knack for multitasking. I used the Link 10 outdoors in cold and snow, with no adverse effects. If you're an iPhone user, be prepared to be using the Bluetooth functionality a lot. Thank you for your support.
